Returns & Order Cancellations
We want you to love your purchase. If you’re not completely satisfied, you may be eligible to return or exchange your item under the terms below.
2. Return Window & Eligibility

You must initiate a return within [7] days of receiving your order.

The candle (or related product) must be unused, unburned, and in its original packaging, with all original contents included (labels, lids, safety information).

Items that are used, burned, damaged, or not in resalable condition are not eligible for return.

Custom, personalized, or special-order items (e.g. custom labels, monograms, made-to-order colors/scents) are non-returnable.
3. Return Process

Contact us at [candles@shopmoderndot.com] with your order number and reason for return.

We will issue you a Return Authorization (RA) number and provide return instructions.

Package the item securely (preferably in original packaging), include all components, and ship to the address we provide.

Return shipping must be prepaid (i.e. you are responsible for shipping costs), unless the return is due to our error (defective item, incorrect item shipped).

We recommend using a trackable shipping method and insuring the package for its full value— we are not responsible for items lost in transit.
4. Refunds & Exchanges

Once we receive and inspect the return, we will notify you by email of the approval or rejection of your refund/exchange.

If approved, refunds will be issued to the original method of payment within [14] business days.

In some cases, we may offer store credit or an exchange (same item or alternative) instead of a refund.

Shipping costs (original and return) are non-refundable, unless the return was due to our mistake or product defect.

A restocking fee of [15%] may be deducted from the refund for unauthorized returns or returns not meeting conditions.
5. Defective or Damaged Items

Please inspect your order upon delivery.

If your item arrives defective, broken, or incorrect, contact us within [7] days of delivery with photos.

Wax melts, travel-size candles, or “consumable” products may be excluded (if applicable)
7. Legal & Miscellaneous

We reserve the right to refuse a return that doesn’t comply with this policy.
